Speedway Electric was founded in 1977 in Scarborough, Ontario. We primarily serviced the industrial markets which involved a variety of customers. Services ranged from design-build of control panels, machine control, explosion proof installations, plant distribution wiring and trouble-shooting of electrical and electronic devices as well as high rise commercial.
Industrial markets included Liquid Carbonic, now Praxair. We were the sole source for design-build of all the cryogenic freezing applications, including all proto-type freezers in southern Ontario. We also provided the installs at numerous food plants as well as servicing all different types of equipment. Others included Castrol Oil, BASF, Allied Halo, Gen Pak, Kellogg’s, Heinz, Pro Pastries, Janes Family Foods, S.A.Armstrong to name a few.
Due to rapidly growing relationships forged with key accounts and demand for related mechanical services, Pump System Interfacing was founded eight years later in 1985. P.S.I. specializes in hydronic HVAC Systems, Domestic Cold Water Booster Systems and Fire Pump Systems in the financial district (high rise commercial, in downtown Toronto) and also in the north part of the GTA, as well we provide services to the municipal sector. In The City of Vaughan, we act as the System Integrator as well design-build of PLC/SCADA panels. We also service pumps, all types of valves, fans, generators, transfer switches, etc. and provide 24 hour monitoring. For the Town of Richmond Hill and town of Aurora we are MOE Operators and service the complete facility. For the City of Markham, we provide all electrical and mechanical services. In York Region we service pumps and control valves. From time to time some smaller remote towns call on us for consulting and services.
PSI Controls was formed in 2013 to develop an electrical wholesale company that will provide quality customer service through experienced, well trained staff, and inventory suited to our customer needs. Partnering with manufacturers that provide quality products and further training will keep us on the leading edge of a market that provides solutions to specific applications. The original founders, Kenneth and Barbara Perry remain the sole owners of all companies within the group and have been consistently able to provide all growth financing via internal sources with no external encumbrances.
